Last updated: 29 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Mahim Sunni Muslim Kabrastan (“MSMK”, “we”, “the Trust”) collects, uses, and protects personal information through its website (mahimkabrastan.com) and mobile applications (together, the “Platform”). It is intended to comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Platform, we may collect: your name, email address, phone number and postal address (for OTA owners and account holders); records of deceased persons and family details submitted to us for burial and record-keeping; maintenance billing and payment records; burial booking requests; donation pledge details; and basic technical data (such as device type and log information) needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use information
We use personal information to maintain kabrastan and OTA records, issue and track maintenance bills and receipts, process burial booking requests, send service notifications and prayer reminders you have enabled, respond to enquiries, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. We do not sell personal data.
Lawful basis & consent
We process data on the basis of your consent, to perform services you request, and to comply with applicable law. You may withdraw consent or request deletion of your account data, subject to records we are required to retain for legal, accounting or religious-record purposes.
Sharing
We share data only with the Trust's authorised administrators and service providers (for example, hosting and notification delivery) who process it on our behalf under appropriate safeguards, or where required by law. Donation and accounting information is handled in accordance with applicable regulations.
Data security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, role-based access with a two-tier approval process for sensitive changes, and access-controlled document storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and may lodge a grievance with us. To exercise these rights, contact the Trust administrators (see Contact below).
